About Range Rover

The first ever edition of the Paris-Dakar, in 1979, was won by Alain Génestier in an original Range Rover for the car category. Along with his copilots Joseph Terbiaut and Jean Lemordant, Alain Génestier travelled a total of 3’168km to claim victory.

The Louvre Museum in Paris displayed the original Range Rover to honor and show its unique design and engineering. It is the only motor vehicle to ever have been let into the Louvre’s prestigious galleries.
